There are two types of chassis:
1.Traditional chassis or full chassis
In this type of chassis, the body is made as a separate unit and then connected to the ladder frame. It supports all systems in the vehicle, such as the engine, transmission, steering, and suspension.
Benefits
Higher load capacity and strength
Disadvantages
The body is easy to vibrate, and the overall handling and refinement of the vehicle is low
Application
It is used for trucks, buses and SUV cars as well as larger vehicles
Non-traditional or frameless chassis
2. In this type of chassis, the trapezoidal frame does not exist, and the body itself acts as a frame. It supports all systems in the vehicle, such as engines, transmission systems, steering systems, suspension systems.
Benefits
There is less rattling and squeaking
Better handling due to higher body stiffness and weight
Disadvantages
Low carrying capacity
Unsafe in unexpected situations
Application
Mainly used in hatchbacks and cars
