The outer ball joint refers to the hand pull rod ball joint. The method of sticking to the outer ball joint of the car is as follows:
1. Check the swing torque hook the spring scale to the top of the tie rod ball stud and pull the spring scale. When the ball stud and the longitudinal rod start to move, please confirm the measurement read out by the spring scale. If it exceeds the standard, please replace the tie rod and steering gear assembly.
2. Check the rotation torque. Use a special small torque wrench to turn the ball stud, and confirm that the rotation torque is within the specified range (0.3 ~ 2.9n · m). If the reading exceeds the specified value, replace the ball joint.
3. In the actual maintenance of ball joint clearance, the inspection of ball joint clearance is often used to determine whether it needs to be replaced. The inspection method is: raise the vehicle, one person swings the steering wheel left and right at a small angle, and the other person observes under the vehicle to see whether the ball joint is loose. You can also shake the tie rod to see if the ball joint is loose.
